2010 SOCAL 60+ WINS AND PODIUMS

The 60+ races were dominated by a few select riders. Monty Pettus led in wins(13) and podiums(19). Kenny Fuller had 9 wins in a limited schedule with John Rubcic taking 7 also in a limited racing schedule. I was 2nd in podiums at 15 with a complete schedule. Carlos Cruz was 3rd in podiums with 12. 60+ racers faced a tougher problem having to race with younger and faster 55+. A special congratulations to all 60+ racers that  came out and raced. The numbers got smaller as the race year went on. Hopefully next year we will get some decent 60+ fields. I can tell you right now that the purses won't be as good as 2010 but that's not the main reason we race anyway.

2010 SOCAL 55+ WINS AND PODIUMS

It was a long season that started at the Poor College Kids Road Race and ended with the CBR Cal State Championship on Sept. 12th. That ended point worthy races for SCNCA and the CBR BAR series. That is where my count also ended even though there were a few more challenging races left. The 55+ category saw a lot of riders podium but victories were more concentrated. Dale Luedtke had the most wins with 14 with Kal Szkalak at 8 and Mike Mueller at 5. All 3 are with the same team, UC Cyclery/JW Flooring. That is what you call domination. Keith Ketterer had 4 wins on a very limited schedule. Congratulations to ALL the racers that competed in 55/60+ races this year. You all made racing possible and everyone benefited. The racing for the most part was safe. The Long Beach GP had the most crashes and there were a number of factors involved there and the course itself was the main factor. The worst crash was at San Marcos. All the other races saw few crashes and there were none at the CBR Dom Hills race series. Hopefully we can build on our success in 2010 and get more people racing. Work on your teammates to try a race next year. Most riders once they start racing get the bug and keep coming back.

DALE LUEDTKE WINS THE 55+ CBR 2010 BAR SERIES

Dale Luedtke has lead the 55+ BAR Series from wire to wire with no looking back. Dale has won many of the races and definitely showed what a top quality racer he is. Teammate Kal Szkalak was 2nd with Ricky and Al Shorts taking 3rd and 4th. Howard Miller was 5th after missing 2 races because of a crash.

MCKEE WINS 60+ CBR 2010 BAR SERIES

The CBR BAR series ended with their last race on Sept. 12th. Early leader Rich Stahlberg missed a race because of a crash at the Dana Point Grand Prix and his form didn't quite return when he did race again. I raced all the events and placed from 1st to 4th. Monty Pettus won every race he did(5) but also had crash problems missing 4 events. William Carvin placed 3rd overall  having done all but one event which he was at but late and didn't do the 55/60+ race. Consistency won out here.
