HOLE SHOT WINS 55+ 2010 CRIT CHAMP FOR BIRDITT AT THE PARAMOUNT GP

By John McKee

Good size field of 37 considering there were only 5 60+ racers in the group for their second race in 55+ at the Paramount GP. The Paramount race in 2010 was the host of the SCNCA Masters Criterium Championship. A lot of very good riders  neutralized each other throughout the race. Mitch Weinstock won the $400 tooth whitening prime donated by Bill Langstaff.
Everyone was together on the last lap. Mike Birditt was on Rory O'Rielly coming up the rise between turn 3 and 4. Kal and Dale were taking it wide around the bunch. Rory started to swing wide himself leaving a hole shot wide open for Mike. It was a long sprint by himself but he hit as hard as he could right from the start. He gained a hugh gap. Dale, Kal and the rest of the field started to close but Mike had  good speed going and held on nicely for the win. Kal was 2nd and Dale was 3rd. When Kenny BZ releases his photos I will insert some in my story. Ken said it was ok. The top 12 finishers were:

1-Birditt
2-Szkalak
3-Luedtke
4-Schooler
5-Ricky Shorts
6-Gugulielmelli
7-Cahill
8-Collins
9-Denegal
10-Rubcic
11-Wicks
